Facebook Ireland

Digital illustration

We Are Family London were asked to partner with Meta Ireland to help develop an illustration route that would tie back to Meta Ireland as a whole, one community, one island, one family, within Meta Ireland’s campuses.

The brand identity would then be used for physical in-office installations, digital branding and also on branded SWAG items that would be given to staff at the campuses in Dublin.

Using the inclusive tagline, ‘Together Wherever’ WAF wanted to develop an illustrative identity that incorporated an impactful reflection of the beautiful emerald isle of Ireland.

I was commissioned by We Are Family to bring the Together Wherever Ireland concept to life – utilising Irish natural, historic and  cultural landmarks, to help to reinforce the message ‘Together Wherever’.

Living in Ireland for 8 years prior this commission made me feel especially connected to the subject and narrative of the illustration, and I was mega happy to be part of it!

West and Southwest of Ireland: Skellig Michael, Dingle Peninsula, Blarney Castle and a local flora and fauna.

Fragment of the illustration featuring iconic landmarks: Poolbeg, Glendalough and Wicklow mountains, Blarney Castle, and Hook Head Lighthouse.

Return to Office Facebook UK

Digital illustration

We Are Family London were asked to partner with Facebook to help develop a brand identity campaign focussed on celebrating the return to the Facebook offices in Spring 2021. It was necessary that the event identity concept was inclusive of all staff across the UK, wherever they were working from, and welcoming to new hires at the company. In addition, that a sense of extended community was present in the brand identity.

I was thrilled be invited as an illustrator for this and following two campaigns for Facebook UK and Ireland.

The concept was to set a scene authentic to the UK and London in particular where three Facebook offices are located. The isometric approach for the type and composition treatment worked well for showing the busy detailed content of urban / office environment. The colour palette was based on the Facebook brand colours with the accent made on warmer, brighter colours of spring.

We Are Family London delivered multiple assets across physical in-office installations, in office digital branding and also the design across bespoke care packages containing branded SWAG items that were sent to all staff who would continue to work from home in the UK – subsequently encompassing a wider sense of community for all at Facebook – and  ‘Together Wherever’.

BBC Tiny Happy People

creative direction, illustration, animation, social assets

BBC Tiny Happy People’s social media is a place where parents can seek information and allows them to relate to parents who might be going through a similar situation.

Objekt have been producing content for BBC Tiny Happy People which focuses on parental relationships with an emphasis on communication, language development and literacy skills.

I was responsible for the production of the monthly animated pieces and illustrations for social media stories and posts. These visuals were tailored to resonate with a family audience, particularly younger children, while staying true to the vibrant color scheme of the THP brand.

Collaborating with the Tiny Happy People as part of Objekt provided me with the opportunity to experiment with diverse animation and illustration techniques, enabling me to approach visual storytelling in a distinctive manner. ︎
